3 highlights from the London summit

Forward-thinking technology leaders from around the UK recently gathered in London for the 2024 Google Cloud Summit to share insights into the next wave of cloud-based breakthroughs, including Gemini for Workspace. Plenty of innovation, ambition, and brainpower was on display in presentations, keynotes, and breakout sessions that leaned heavily into the AI-driven future.

SADA was on hand to provide expert guidance and an overview of services designed to empower organizations with the next wave of AI advances. If you weren’t able to make the event in person, here’s the next best thing–an overview of the top three takeaways from what turned out to be an epic summit.

1. Gemini for Workspace use cases on the rise

One of the advantages of Google Workspace in the GenAI era is that the platform has always served as a home for artificial intelligence advancements. Now they’re becoming more powerful, compelling, and visible with the advent of Gemini for Workspace.

The London Summit offered ample opportunities to try out Gemini’s productivity & collaboration capabilities. A year ago, many of these use cases may have existed more in the realm of the theoretical. This was the year in which we’re seeing more concrete examples of how businesses and professionals are using Gemini to enhance workflows in every department.

“We were thrilled to see the inventive ways that users in the real world are starting to use Gemini for Workspace to tackle real-world challenges,” says Chris Botello, SADA Head of Productivity & Collaboration Sales UK&I. “For example, I saw one organization utilizing Gems in Gemini for accelerating code review from days to minutes, freeing up developers to focus on innovation. It’s clear we’ve just scratched the surface with what Gemini for Workspace is capable of. The experts at SADA who spend all day testing and implementing this powerful new tool learned a lot during the summit and are excited to share their findings with customers.”

2. SADA and Mobico

In one particularly informative lightning talk, SADA and Mobico spoke about the company’s impressive and rapid business transformation. SADA experts guided the implementation of Google Workspace, empowering Mobico to enhance collaboration and streamline workflows. Mobico’s shared their story of migrating to Google Cloud Platform, highlighting the potential for future scalability and innovation.

“We were excited to share the exciting work we’ve already done with Mobico, and talk more about their continued journey to drive business transformation with Workspace,” says Botello. “Over five months we’ve migrated four of their business units from a competing platform to Google Workspace.”

3. Additional language support for Gemini for Workspace

As if to underscore the speed at which GenAI is enhancing workflows and transforming collaboration, Google announced that more languages will be supported with Gemini for Workspace, which include German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and French.

“Additional language support is critically important for Gemini adoption in global organizations. It’s great to see this additional availability for key languages across Europe and beyond,” Botello says.
