Google recently released two new important updates for Google Apps administrators: a new Google Admin App for iOS and new Google Admin console (the classic Admin console was deprecated on February 3, 2014).

First we’ll review the new Google Admin console, which features the following:

  • Updated look and feel

  • Simplified navigation and improved organization

  • Customizable Dashboard
Perform administrative tasks by going to “controls” on your Dashboard – controls can now be dragged and rearranged or hidden according to what you use most often.

  • New bulk user actions, usage and activity stats

  • Universal search bar

  • New access to organization units

Take a closer look at these changes by visiting the Google Apps Documentation & Support page. Google’s also created a Cheat Sheet summarizing these changes.

Google also recently released the Google Amin app for iOS, so admins can effectively manage their organization’s Google Apps accounts on their iPhones or iPads. This app is specially designed for admins and requires API access to be enabled.
