Google is transitioning Postini services to the Google Apps platform, a change that offers many benefits to users! Users will still continue to receive email security and archiving services for use with their existing email servers through Google Apps and Google Apps Vault – here’s what you need to know about the transition.
Admins gain an enhanced, improved experience with system management that’s more scalable and modern. Users will have enhanced language support which includes coverage across archive and compliance settings as well. Additionally, searches can now span across your entire domain and are no longer limited to a single year.
It’s important to note that Google Apps email settings also work with non-Gmail mail servers such as Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes, so you don’t need to switch to Gmail when transitioning from Postini to Google Apps.
If you are a current SADA Systems customer, your pricing & policies, email service and your relationship with SADA Systems will not change. For customers with the same reseller for Postini & Google Apps – your relationship with SADA Systems won’t change, and you will be supported during this transition. For customers with different resellers for Postini & Google Apps – Google Apps does not allow services to be split between two resellers. Services and billing for both products will be transferred to your Google Apps reseller.
Transitions are expected to begin in April, so keep an eye out for further communications!

An invitation from us to transition
SADA will invite you to transition when Google deems your organization eligible. The Postini administrator that is setup in your account will receive an email from SADA Systems with an invitation to transition – this date cannot be determined or changed by SADA Systems.
Once you receive your invitation, it will contain two important details, the first being your transition deadline which is 100 days from the date we provide you in email communication. After the deadline, Google will transition you automatically. The second is a transition link which will take you to your Postini admin console to start the transition process.
