Business challenge
“Reltio was born in the cloud and the Reltio Connected Customer 360 was architected to support multiple public cloud providers so that our customers can take advantage of the value each one offers,” said Anastasia Zamyshlyaeva, Co-Founder and Chief Architect. Today, the platform is available on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS), with Microsoft Azure on the roadmap.
In its early stage as a Google Cloud Platform Partner, Reltio utilized App Engine, BigQuery, and Cloud Datastore, but soon desired to leverage GCP’s full suite of comprehensive computing services. To maximize its existing GCP implementation, Reltio needed a partner with deep GCP experience to help it perform a lift and shift migration of its platform – which Reltio wanted to have accomplished within just two months.
Partnership with SADA
Reltio’s partnership with SADA began through a positive reference from Google. SADA’s team provided consultative services addressing Reltio’s overall goals and challenges, developing a project plan for the lift and shift from AWS, and providing project management services to Reltio’s team on timing and deliverables for each step of implementation.
To begin, SADA advised Reltio on areas where the company had previously been bootstrapping its GCP efforts, such as Cloud Pub/Sub and streaming capabilities. SADA helped Reltio minimize costs and optimize performance platform-wide.
SADA’s experts also ensured that Reltio’s staff were skilled on the new GCP services they would be using prior to implementation, including Kubernetes and GCP databases. Five of Reltio’s developers were trained on GCP’s machine learning tools through Google’s Advanced ML Solutions Lab, which opened up a new direction and market opportunity for the company.

SADA’s team continues to provide Reltio with assistance in a variety of areas, including technical support, optimizing costs, and accelerating the adoption of additional services. For example, SADA recently worked with Reltio to optimize its CI/CD by reworking its Chef and Terraform code.
Results
Reltio’s utilization of GCP has expanded to a wide portfolio of features and services, including GKE, BigTable, BigQuery, Datastore, Dataproc, Dataflow, Dataprep, Data Studio, GCS, and Pub/Sub. The company and its customers are now enjoying all of the benefits of a true multi-cloud environment, including:
- Performance and cost optimization.
Reltio can now run workloads in cloud environments that maximize performance and optimize cloud cost. - Alleviate competitive concerns from retailers.
Some of Reltio’s retail customers are uncomfortable using AWS due to Amazon’s expansion into their vertical market and appreciate being able to choose GCP instead. - Disaster recovery (DR) plan.
Now that Reltio leverages multiple cloud providers, it is able to fail-over to one cloud if the other is down. - Data locality issues.
Reltio’s customers store sensitive personal identifying information (PII) in the company’s MDM solution, and data locality is critical. More cloud providers mean more data centers, allowing Reltio to deploy within the region that best meets each customer’s needs. - New data tools for customers.
Reltio’s customers now have new ways to work with data from Reltio’s data repositories, such as functionality around matching and data quality. Since all customers can leverage these services, they are benefitting from Reltio’s GCP implementation regardless of where they are running their workloads.
