SADA is proud to announce that we’ve won four 2021 Comparably awards, including Best Company Culture, Best CEO, Best Company for Women, and Best Company for Diversity.

“It’s an incredible honor to receive four Comparably Awards recognizing SADA’s unique culture, outstanding leadership, and ongoing efforts to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion,” said Orkideh Shahidi, Vice President, People Operations, SADA. “We believe deeply in our diverse and passionate team members, and we make sure to provide them with an environment that inspires them to shape and grow our organization with their new ideas, perspectives, and experiences. SADA wouldn’t be where it is right now if it weren’t for our people, the heart and soul of our organization.”

Comparably Awards are determined by sentiment ratings anonymously provided by employees about their workplaces in multiple categories on Comparably.com during a 12-month period. Winners are then determined based on 16 core culture metrics, including career growth (opportunities, mentorship, goals), leadership (CEO, executives, direct managers), and work environment (work-life balance, perks and benefits, coworkers).

“Out of thousands of companies, SADA employees have rated their organization among the best of the best this year in four key categories,” said Comparably CEO Jason Nazar. “The high rankings on each list is a testament to Tony Safoian as a leader and his team’s commitment to workplace culture, diversity, and inclusivity.”

This isn’t the first time SADA has been recognized for its exceptional company leadership and company culture. SADA CEO and President Tony Safoian, who ranked #23 on Comparably’s 2021 Best CEOs list for small/midsize companies, was also named 2021 Executive of the Year by Business Intelligence Group. This year, SADA also landed on multiple best workplaces lists, including 2021 INC. Best Workplaces and #1 on both 2021 Business Intelligence Group Best Places to Work and 2021 InHerSight Best IT and Services Companies to Work For as Rated by the Women Who Work There

SADA, which welcomed its 500th employee this year, may be growing quickly, but its small-business culture remains. From a robust and welcoming onboarding experience that includes a meet and greet with its CEO/President and other members of our executive management team to recognizing long-time team members, new employees, and special achievements at our weekly virtual town halls, SADA makes people the centerpiece of its growth and success.

As a company founded by immigrants, and in the spirit of its core tenet, “Together, we’re all in,”  SADA continually seeks opportunities to foster an inclusive, diverse, and supportive environment for employees. From using machine learning technology to screen job descriptions for bias to providing training and resources that encourage a deeper awareness, SADA strives to ensure that everyone who interacts with the company feels welcomed.

Impactful initiatives like SADA University, an 8-week training program designed to develop cloud infrastructure and data engineering talent from within the organization, help bridge the gap between under-represented talent and meaningful job opportunities. With an emphasis on diversity and inclusion, the program’s mission is to onboard and upskill new and existing members of the team.

Some of SADA’s other diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives include:

  • Investing in DEI training workshops
  • Sponsorship of Women Impact Tech Summit and the Society of Women Engineers Conference to network with hundreds of female engineers
  • Partnering with alternative coding schools to help non-traditional engineering students become successful cloud engineers
  • Partnering with WE and Google to offer an Inclusive Leadership Series to enhance our culture of belonging and allyship
  • Working with organizations like the National Society of Black Engineers to ensure we are reaching talent from all communities
  • Making financial contributions to organizations that are driving systematic change in society (for example, Black Girls Code, the Equal Justice Initiative, Nomi Network, National Black Women’s Justice institute, and Race Forward)
